My name is Mrs. Rawlins, and I am so excited to get to know each and every family in my class. Our classroom theme is "Growing In God's Love" and that is exactly what we will be trying to do. We will learn many things academically, socially and spiritually, and we will have lots of fun while learning. One of the biggest gifts I would like for my students to take from second grade is that in order to learn, one has to keep trying and one WILL make mistakes. Along with our many successes will also come some mistakes.
Albert Einstein said, "It's not that I'm so smart. It's just that I stay with problems longer." Einstein understood the importance of the role that perseverance plays. I also agree with Marva Collins, who said, "If you can't make mistakes, you can't make anything." I want my students to be UNafraid to make mistakes. That's how we learn. We will all make mistakes together, enjoy successes together and play together.
So my dear, sweet students, welcome to a year of making mistakes and learning together. You all have so much potential! Please remember to
"Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; Dream while others are wishing." W.A. Ward
