Student Projects

Our class will be involved with lots of creative & interesting projects. Here are just a few examples:

Service Projects - Upcoming in December is the "onething challenge". Kids will pay attention to verses about loving others as they DO AN ACT OF LOVE and journal about it for 7 days (7th & 8th) or 5 days (6th gd.) This is a FAVORITE project with parents - who often receive unexpected "gifts" of love in the form of backrubs, clean dishes, laundry folded, and meaningful conversations - to name a few things. Learning about God's word is so much better when we EXPERIENCE it in real and tangible ways! Due date: Dec. 12.
Special Project - FALL HARVEST DRIVE: Instead of collecting canned goods this fall, we are gathering socks, mittens, gloves, beanies and scarves to give to those less fortunate than us - the poor among us in our community. These will be distributed to the poor who frequent The Sabbath House and The Jesus Center. Due date to bring items in is Dec. 12. This is a class competition & the class who brings in the most items will earn a PIZZA PARTY!

Art & Bible - Before we can begin the wall mosaic for downtown Chico we will need to purchase tile & tools. Please consider donating to this cause! Checks may be made out to CCS Mosaic Project and left with Sharon in the office. Thank you for your support in this area! (Beautiful & meaningful art deepens our faith. One of the BIG projects we are aiming for is to create, as a group, a large wall mosaic which will become a permanent part of downtown Chico. Scripture and art will be done by the students themselves and will hopefully be a source of inspiration, beauty and healing to all who see it! For this to happen we need financial donations so that we can purchase tile, tools, etc. - and if you have any tile at home from projects, please donate them. Questions about this project are welcome - I love to describe how your kids are going to impact their community with their work!)

Field Trips - we'll visit The Jesus Center and serve our school in a variety of ways!
