Mission Statement:  The purpose of the Helping Hands Fund is to provide monetary assistance to families of Chico Christian School and Chico Christian Preschool who have an immediate family member who is undergoing a medical crisis.  This assistance is for families to help pay for some of their expenses during this stressful time.  We recognize that some families prefer not to have their hardships widely known.  This fund is a way for them to receive some help without publicity.

Plan of Action:  Staff and school families can submit names of those who are dealing with a medical hardship.  Money for the Helping Hands fund will be generated through the Run In Their Shoes event.  This is a 5K run/walk held on the Chico Christian School campus in October.  Our hope is that by having a yearly school wide benefit, we will eliminate the need for multiple donation requests while still providing for those in need.  Beyond having our families participate in this event, we are also using it as a Meet & Greet for old and new Chico Christian families.  Chico Christian School will also be holding a contest for the students to design the logo for the t-shirt each year.  Chico Christian Middle School students will also be participating in the coordination and implementation of A Run In Their Shoes as part of their community service project for Bible class.
