Friends of Chico Christian School are called to support Chico Christian School now and beyond their lifetime.

Our vision is to provide the assistance needed to keep the costs of Christian education affordable for all parents seeking to provide a Christian-based education for their children.

The Friends of Chico Christian School have formed the CCS Foundation in partnership with the North Valley Community Foundation. We strive to challenge the community to exercise faithful stewardship and provide for present and future CCS staff needs. Investing in our youth today will prepare them to meet the challenges of tomorrow!

Friends of CCS Support

All Chico Christian School families and friends are asked, in proportion to their ability, to consider a financial commitment to Chico Christian School that goes beyond tuition. As the school's primary beneficiaries, Chico Christian families and friends set the example for community giving by taking the lead in supporting the school financially through voluntary donations and gifts. Chico Christian School partners with the North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF.org), a 501.C3; therefore all gifts are tax deductible to the end permitted by law.

The CCS Foundation Accounts:

Chico Christian Foundation - Teacher's Fund for Excellence
Mission Statement:  Provide teacher professional development for academic excellence.
Expected Use of Funds:  Professional Development and Benefits

Chico Christian Foundation - Technology and Curriculum
Mission Statement:  Provide academic and technology tools for excellence.
Expected Use of Funds:  Providing classrooms with science, technology, engineering and mathematic tools,

Chico Christian Foundation - Scholarships
Mission Statement:  Provide scholarships for students seeking a Christian-based education.
Expected Use of Funds:  Scholarships for Chico Christian School students.

Chico Christian Foundation - Endowment
Mission Statement:  Give friends of Chico Christian School an opportunity to support now and beyond their lifetime.
Expected Use of Funds:  Build an Endowment Fund that keeps giving forever to Chico Christian education.

All voluntary financial support to Chico Christian School is recognized in the school's annual report. A one-time gift really is a gift that keeps on giving forever.

Gifts can be give in the form of:

• Annie B - Cash, Check, Credit Card between August 1 to September 30th.  The Annie B Foundation donates an additional percentage to the account and preserves the actual funds donated to CCS. Click here for more information and to donate.
• Cash - A very simple way to give.  You can give a one-time gifts, a gift of monthly payments, or make a pledge of one, two or three year commitment.
• Memorials - Make a gift in morning of a loved one.
• Marketable Securities such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds and receive a charitable deduction according to current tax laws.
• Contracts/Note Receivables can be accepted as a charitable donation, which will benefit the school and the give as well.
• Life Insurance Policies - receive a deduction on the computer current value of your paid-up policy or premium payments. Name CCS Foundation as a beneficiary in a new or current policy and provide a substantial gift through small premium payments. Consider CCS before dropping or discontinuing a life insurance policy.
• Real Estate - receive a deduction for the appraised market value and avoid paying tax on your capital gains.
• 401K, 403B and IRA Accounts - maximize the value of your gift subject to current law.

Planned Giving to Chico Christian School
Friends of Chico Christian School may give a gift through their estate plan.

Here are some examples of how you can leave a legacy of support to Chico Christian School:

Charitable bequest - make a bequest through your estate as noted in your will.
Charitable Gift Annuity - A very popular way to receive an income for life while make an immediate and significant gift to Chico Christian School.
Charitable Trusts - craft a charitable lead or remainder trust to your specific charitable and financial objectives.
Life Estate Contract - donate a real estate contract (house or land) and retain full use of the property until death.

You can establish a fund any time during your lifetime or through your estate plan. The Foundation has several options available that provide current tax and estate planning benefit while helping you support Chico Christian School. We would be happy to connect you with a North Valley Community Foundation representative to discuss which giving program best meets your needs.
