To meet the requirements of the Private School Satellite Program offered by Chico Christian School, there are a few responsibilities to be met by the parents of students enrolled at levels 2 and 3. Please read and acknowledge by signing the following:
It is mandatory for families to be members of HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association). Proof of membership must be provided at the time of enrollment. Membership must be maintained while participating in the PSP.
Parents will write a Philosophy of Education identifying the reason for choosing home schooling, goals of instruction, and methods used. A copy of this will be kept in your file.
Attendance records must be kept (on sheet provided by CCS) and recorded each trimester. This must be turned in to the facilitator upon completion of the school year. The state requires 180 days of attendance per school year.
To show what you typical school week looks like, parents will turn in a week of completed lesson plans or student learning log each trimester. You may use the student learning log provided by CCS or make copies of your own records for CCS to keep on file.
Parent will strive to instruct at a level that meets or exceeds the state standards for the child's grade level, and understand that the child must demonstrate adequate academic growth each school year.
In order to demonstrate academic growth, students will be tested yearly in literacy and math through one-on-one benchmark testing or SAT testing provided by CCS.
Student work samples (a minimum of 3 per subject per year) will be collected each trimester throughout the year.
