Chico Christian School believes in partnering with its parent community to bring a well-rounded education to its student body. Research shows that when parents are engaged in their child's education, children tend to have better success at school in all areas, including behavior, socialization and academics.
Chico Christian school encourages and welcomes both the mothers and fathers (even grandparents) of our students to become involved and show their support of their child's education by becoming involved during school hours and events. We believe in it so strongly, we have a minimum requirement of five hours per year for single parents and ten hours per year for dual parent homes. Here are some of the ways parents can serve their parent hours or become involved beyond the minimum requirements:
Room Parent
Responsibilities include:
Meeting monthly with the room parent coordinator during the school year
Getting volunteers for the annual event their class is assigned
Contacting new families at the beginning of the year to see if they have any questions
Assisting their child's teacher with classroom parties or other classroom activities
Other Ways to Serve Parent Hours
Driving on field trips
Working in the classroom during times established by the teacher
Take home projects teachers may need completed
Making copies or other prep work as assigned by the teacher
